King George
I decided to see if George wanted to come out tonight, and since he climbed quite happily into my hand, I figured it would be a nice calm visit.
Ummm no.... LOL
After a bunch of jumping up to my shoulder & off (quickly caught though), he did a dive and crawled onto the bottom deep shelf of a stand. Talk about dusty! I swear that after a big scarey jump, each tends to scare themselves docile for the most part. Other than some quick hand walking (or should I say running?) he is fine to just chill ....
Oh and even though he has an odd tail, it still moves and curls just fine ....

Short Visits
Just a quick post from the tablet before I try to sleep ....
Tonight while feeding the crew, Cosmo decided to take a stroll up my arm. Sadly, I was still feeding the critters so it was a very short visit,
When I went to spray them down for the night, Evis wanted to visit. Again, it was a short vsit. I went soon after to see if Cosmo wanted to still come out, but she had since changed her mind.
Now, as for the springtails, I am not a fan as yet. I was hoping for a more postive respose, but either I am doing it wrong, or the weather is affecting things worse than I thought. There is fuzzy stuff in the two tanks (from humidity I think) and a weird smell. I am not sure whats going on but the two critters seem to be enjoying the damp dirt by the digging indications I find. I will see how it goes after I do up the tanks for George and Max on monday.
Time to crash, working many more days yet - expo to save up for in September of course!

Crack-head
Well it seems the growth spurt of the crack-head known as Sylvester may still be continuing. Tonight he was done his food first, and this is not the first time either. It looks like nearly licked the dish clean which is a nice change from him barely eating before.
Lady M seems to have figured out the food thing, as I have witnessed her eating and have also seen signs of poop in her tank. I know, weird but that is the best way to tell if a newly housed/bought critter is adjusting well.
Ghost, well we are still waiting on him.... he needs more time to adjust than Lady M does it seems.
Lucinda still has yet to lay her clutch, and is actually very overdue. I did notice she was shedding tonight, and has been hanging out in her tree thing (which usually means she is getting ready to lay) so I am hoping the killer hot weather has just been affecting her.
I have a fan running in there nearly 24/7 to try to help so again, we will have to see.

We are sad yet again ....
Today another of our furry family left us.
With no indication that anything was wrong, Cuddles crossed over. She chose today to walk with the spirits of Nature and join her brothers. She was laid to rest earlier this evening, and is peacefully curled up near the others that have passed.
All our hearts (mine and the tiny hearts of the critter crew) feel the new pain of this loss much more than normal since it is so close behind the other, and the wounds from her sibling's passng are felt anew.
Again, and always, our love goes out to Rose and her family - both human and furry - as they grieve this new loss. But hopefully a smile and a memory will break through the raining tears and numbness, and the healing can begin.
We are here for you, Rose ....

My happy for tonight!
She was calm ... cool ... happy as you please to be there. I am very happy tonight, since she has not yet been like this .... even when I had her out prior it took a while to get to this calm state for her. But tonight, BAM it was there from the get go ...
So that is three now photo'd and weighed .... 5 yet to go ... LOL

Another sad day ....
Mittens ....
She was ill ... then seemed to be getting better ... eating and playing again .... but sadly she still lost the fight ... poor little thing ....
Her tiny furry body has been laid to rest beside JB's in a quiet ceremony .... they are now playing together in the Sky .... and still causing mischief from above on Rose and the others in that family.
Like the others who have gone on before, Mittens will be missed by Rose's family and mine. There will be one less set of feet to trample the dirt ... one less member of the kitty wrestling team ..... and one less fuzzy cuddle option.
But the tiny footprints left by Mittens in our hearts will always remain .... mixed in with JB's recent footsteps as they run and jump together now ....
Our hearts (mine and the critter crew) go out to Rose and her "crew"

My boy Elvis .... again ...
So tonight ... as I am watering the tanks for the night, I put my hand in to pet Elvis like I usually do. But tonight, while my hand is curled and petting him, he decided it was time for an outting.
He not only came to me in his own accord (which I love him for, btw) he jumped onto my shirt! He was determined he was getting out tonight. So I put the spray bottle down, and took him back to my desk for some hands on time. He was content and not near as bad as the others for jumping in an attempt to explore etc. I wish it was not the end of a brutal long 2 days, or I could have given him more time
At least his "god-mother" got to see him for a few in Skype,..... until he jumped the webcam and then the speakers LOL

Quick update
Just a quick post ... its been a bit with no news... sorry ...
Lucinda has not laid her clutch yet, but is due to lay those duds anytime now ...
When I am beyond exhausted, I am an evil person and feed the crew Fluckers food .... not the best at all for them, but it is something at least. It seems Sylvester likes the stuff ... go figure .... what a crack-head .....
New gear on monday via kijiji ... pics will be posted afterwards ......
