End of the Year 2013

Well the past few months have been rough .... for me at least ... which means that the critters have been lacking for attention.

I made a point of weighing and snapping a few pics earlier this month, but I didn't get all them done. There are still 3 that I am hoping to get taken care of over the next few days.

Tonight, before even booting up the laptop, I spent at least 5 minutes with each of the critters. I hope to do this more regularly (yes I know I say that a lot and still fail at it) .... partly for me, and partly so they can get used to me again. I have also had a few co-workers express interest in having a gecko as a pet, and they are interested in the breeding results from Lucinda & Ghost. That being said, I am encouraging strongly that these people come over at least once in the evening to get to know how to take care of geckos, and to get an idea on what to expect with them.

The trick is working amid all our schedules LOL

CHARLIE now 32g

ELVIS now 37g

SYLVESTER  now 48g

RED  now 48g

LUCINDA now 47g

GHOST  now 49g

LADY M  now 23g

COSMO  now 48g

Nov 6, 2013

Well, since my attempts to stop Ravyn from making googly-snack eyes at the crtters has pretty much failed, I have decided to let them figure it out. Neither her nor them are going to be gotten rid of, so they might as well learn to accept the way things run here.

As a side note, Ravyn is doing her nightly crack-head routine (aka running like her butt is on fire from one room to the other) while I am typing this. I can hear the loss of traction on corners, and am very gld for the small rug in the hallway. Even so, there are still thuds to be heard....

I took advantage of Ravyn being elsewhere (aka eyeing the other critters) and did some hands-on time with Lady M. She was not too jumpy, but MAN she has grown! I am going to have to do a weigh-in on them all soon .....

Charlie

Well she has done it ....

She has been digging ... burrowing almost ... odd if you think about it in a general sense ...

But perfect sense for a gecko getting ready to lay her eggs ... duds or not ....

So now to count and see if she is 40days apart like Lucinda .... speaking of which, I gotta check when her next are .... need those schedules you know .... babies in the new year maybe ....

New News

Sorry for the big gap in posts but life has been crazy.

We now have a furry critter in our midst, and her name is Ravyn. She is a long hair black tiny 3 year old kitten that I have given a home to after she was abandoned by rude people in my building. So far the geckos don't seem too worried about her and I have seen at least three of them have stare-downs with her. Her boldness leads me to think she knows she is safe here, and is home.

Sadly, this has meant the geckos have been not getting their hands-on time with me like they used to. With work and stress of life, I have not been as attentive with them, and their tanks have suffered. This, along with more hands-on time, is my goal going forward. I am going to need to get them to "remember" me by giving them a bit of time each night.

Tonight, I did a couple minutes of hands-on time with 3 of them after spraying them for the night. I kept my hands in the tank for the most part because it is going to be along road back to where we had been. Red has been jumpy a lot more since the cat's arrival, and has been a big part of Ravyn's learning. I did a bit of hands-on and was happy to see him calm down pretty quickly. Lucinda did seem to be a bit more jumpy in comparison, and wanted to explore a bit more than I was ready for. Charlie, well she was nearly completely IN her dirt, like she was burrowing or something. She has always been one of the most panicy of them, so her time will take a bit to recover. She has also started laying her duds so I guess she is a bit confused on things.

Max, Sylvester (90% sure is female) and Lady M even seem to have no worries about being stared at by the cat. I am not going to encourage it though .....

Well time for bed and for Ravyn's special time to cuddle and get attention .... as if she was starving for it .... LOL

September 2013 WEIGH IN

Well .. to say they were not in the mood to be weighed would be an understatement!

Lady M (as usual) got vocal ... but then was not really in a hurry to go back into her house ... many of the others did the gecko "bite" thing .... no damage but seriously? Sheesh ....

Oh well .. got the numbers ....

RED - 39g in June ... now 42g

GEORGE - 47g in June ... now 51g

LUCINDA - 41g in June ... now 43g

MAX - 55g in June ... now 53g

GHOST - 39g in June ... now 43g

Quick Post

Just a quick note ...

Put the new decorations into the various tanks tonight with interesting results.

Sylvester seemed to just stare at his decor of hanging vines, as if trying to figure out where they had appeared from.

Red seems to be taking his 2 new hanging vines and twisted vine all in stride.

Ghost ... well he has more things to hide behind which should suit him fine since he is still adapting and adjusting.

Lady M enjoyed her new decor and seems to be adapting well. She doesn't run and hide when I do the nightly sprays. She has also gone from 5g to 10.5g in about 7 or 8 weeks.

Update Aug 13

Well ther have been some positive things of late....

A few of thrm liked the banana flavored food, but more of them seem happy to be back on the regular stuff. In a couple of weeks I will see how they handle the mango flavor.

I have noticed that Sylvester is not so much "what ya doing?" in the mornings, and it would appear to have been a phase he went through. I am still waiting though to see if he is indeed a he or not. There seems to be no issue on what he will eat ... he devoured the food in front of him without a worry. He does seem to be making "friends" with Lady M in her tank that sits besde his, but as yet I am not sure if it is a best-buddies thing, or a making-eyes thing yet ... it may even be a territorial thing. It will take more time to know ....

Lady M has a habit of squaking at me when I go to handle her, but she is getting better at things. The last time I picked her up she didn't complain. Mind you, she was a bit distracted with her neighbour. She seems to be settling in just fine, eating and whatnot. The only odd ting is she runs for her hide when I spray them at night. I figure she will adapt sooner or later to this all ....

Ghost as well is settling in now, even though we were off to a slow start. It took a while for him to come out, and even then he would hide as soon as I came near or opened the tank door. He is eating more now, and he actually did't bolt when I opened the door to spray tonight. He just sat there, working on last night's food. I hope to soon be able to handle him, even if it is just a few minutes.....

Well thats it from me and the critter crew .... more vids and weight updates soon!

A visit with Lady M

I have noticed Lady M and Sylvester hanging out a bit more than before - as best they can - after I swapped their tanks's places. She does this upside down type thing towards the lower part of her tank, and he does this upwards thing near the top of his .... around where the two tanks's glass walls meet ...

They sat like that for over an hour last night ... but oddly not so much tonight .... I am not sure if it is a best buddies thing, if Sylvester does turn out to be a female ... or if it is pre-love thing if he is a male. Either way it is both cute and a bit creepy ... even for geckos LOL

Speaking of Sylvester, he has yet to show if he has the male goods or not. It is still undetermined what he is ... but it is looking more and more like Sylvester may become Sylvia .... or Priscilla ...

On a good note, I have notice both Elvis and Ghost eating a bit more than before ... but it is not yet enuff to reduce my concerns. I am hoping to get them all crickets on Sunday as a treat so that may help too.

Red has grown up ... sort of ...

My little mexican jumping bean is no more .... Red seems to have outgrown that phase ... and he has gotten bigger ...

He still is silly - like he dumps his dishes - but I think that is simply inherent in gecko DNA ... LOL

I went to see what the ruckus was, and he climbed right up my arm. No spazzy jumping, just hand to hand walking ... but calmer than ever. He sat still (perched on my fingers, of course) for most of an hour. I did get a chance to take a new video of him (see YouTube) and upload a pic of him to FBook. He tried to not go back in after his hour time, but I still had to eat my supper. Definitely a nice change in his behaviour.

Ah well, back to stuff ...

Picky Eaters

Well I am not sure who is eating less, Elvis or Ghost.

Elvis seems to no want anything to do with the food he is being given, to the point he dumps his food dish out of the ledge onto the floor of his tank. He is starting to look really small so I am getting a bit concerned.

Ghost ... being new ... has yet to give any real indication of eating other than the poops in the tank, but even those are not really substantial. Lady M is new, but at least she is eating.

I got paid for some sales (woot) so I was able to place an order with Northern Gecko for food etc. I am hoping to figure which critter will eat which food, as I ordered some small bags of the flavoured variety to test. I am hoping to get them crickets this week too as it has been a while for that treat for them.

Well they are all doing their nightly party and weirdness so have fun kids!

Water time!

So at tonight's watering, poor little Elvis just wanted to hang out. Unfortunatly it was too late for that, bu I will try to give him some time soon. He does not seem to be eating so I am hoping to get some flavored food for him soon.

Another funny for the night, was when I went to water Red, and found him hanging out upside down from his ceiling! Silly thing .....

Ages for the crew ...

OK ...

Finally took some time to take a shot at figuring how old each critter is as of today ... as best I can based on when I got them and their weight ... so in order of when they joined my house:

GEORGE is about 2 years and 1 month old

ELVIS is about 2 years old

RED is about 1 year and 6 months old

LUCINDA is about 2 years old

SYLVESTER is about 1 year and 5 months old (slow grower)

MAX is about 2 years old

CHARLIE is about 1 year and 10 months old

COSMO is about 1 year and 8 months old

GHOST is about 1 year and 10 months old

LADY M is about 5 months old

I hope to have each live a long life ... with proper care these guys and gals can easily live for nearly 20 years ...

King George

Well ....

I decided to see if George wanted to come out tonight, and since he climbed quite happily into my hand, I figured it would be a nice calm visit.

Ummm no.... LOL

After a bunch of jumping up to my shoulder & off (quickly caught though), he did a dive and crawled onto the bottom deep shelf of a stand. Talk about dusty! I swear that after a big scarey jump, each tends to scare themselves docile for the most part. Other than some quick hand walking (or should I say running?) he is fine to just chill ....

Oh and even though he has an odd tail, it still moves and curls just fine ....

Short Visits

Just a quick post from the tablet before I try to sleep ....

Tonight while feeding the crew, Cosmo decided to take a stroll up my arm. Sadly, I was still feeding the critters so it was a very short visit,

When I went to spray them down for the night, Evis wanted to visit. Again, it was a short vsit. I went soon after to see if Cosmo wanted to still come out, but she had since changed her mind.

Now, as for the springtails, I am not a fan as yet. I was hoping for a more postive respose, but either I am doing it wrong, or the weather is affecting things worse than I thought. There is fuzzy stuff in the two tanks (from humidity I think) and a weird smell. I am not sure whats going on but the two critters seem to be enjoying the damp dirt by the digging indications I find. I will see how it goes after I do up the tanks for George and Max on monday.

Time to crash, working many more days yet - expo to save up for in September of course!

Crack-head

Well it seems the growth spurt of the crack-head known as Sylvester may still be continuing. Tonight he was done his food first, and this is not the first time either. It looks like nearly licked the dish clean which is a nice change from him barely eating before.

Lady M seems to have figured out the food thing, as I have witnessed her eating and have also seen signs of poop in her tank.  I know, weird but that is the best way to tell if a newly housed/bought critter is adjusting well.

Ghost, well we are still waiting on him.... he needs more time to adjust than Lady M does it seems.

Lucinda still has yet to lay her clutch, and is actually very overdue. I did notice she was shedding tonight, and has been hanging out in her tree thing (which usually means she is getting ready to lay) so I am hoping the killer hot weather has just been affecting her.

I have a fan running in there nearly 24/7 to try to help so again, we will have to see.

Weigh in .... and NEW members!

So .... I went to my once a year expo trip .... so said cuz I never make it to more than one in a year ....

I had a list of things to look for ... like food dishes ... climbing vines .... hanging vines ... tank decorations ... food ... springtails .... and I did find most of that ....

But I didn't find the food I needed so I will still need to order that .... and watch kijiji for more tanks and food ledges ...

I did find 2 unexpected treasures ... two additions for my crew .... a probable female ... and a definate male ...

With the new additions, it was time for a weigh-in ....

GEORGE ... no change in 2 months ... sitting at 49g still

ELVIS ... went up a bit .... 32g in April to 33g in June

RED .... small change ... 38g to 39g in two months

LUCINDA ... bit more of a change ... 37g in April to 41g in June

SYLVESTER ... biggest change of them all ... went from 14g in April to 22g in June ... current debate if he IS male

CHARLIE ... small change for her .... 37g in April to 39g in June

MAX ... bigger change for him ... 50g in April to 55g in June

COSMO ... small change here too ... 41g in April to 42g in June

GHOST .... 39g for initial weigh in

LADY MYNERVA .... wee thing at 5g

We are sad yet again ....

Today another of our furry family left us.

With no indication that anything was wrong, Cuddles crossed over. She chose today to walk with the spirits of Nature and join her brothers. She was laid to rest earlier this evening, and is peacefully curled up near the others that have passed.

All our hearts (mine and the tiny hearts of the critter crew) feel the new pain of this loss much more than normal since it is so close behind the other, and the wounds from her sibling's passng are felt anew.

Again, and always, our love goes out to Rose and her family - both human and furry - as they grieve this new loss. But hopefully a smile and a memory will break through the raining tears and numbness, and the healing can begin.

We are here for you, Rose ....

My happy for tonight!

Well ... I decided it was time for Lucinda to have her turn out since it has been a while. To my amazement, she jumped into my hand with no muss no fuss. She barely did any jumping either once back at my desk.

She was calm ... cool ... happy as you please to be there. I am very happy tonight, since she has not yet been like this .... even when I had her out prior it took a while to get to this calm state for her. But tonight, BAM it was there from the get go ...

So that is three now photo'd and weighed .... 5 yet to go ... LOL

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Another sad day ....

Sadly ... we lost another of our furry friends .....

Mittens ....

She was ill ... then seemed to be getting better ... eating and playing again .... but sadly she still lost the fight ... poor little thing ....

Her tiny furry body has been laid to rest beside JB's in a quiet ceremony .... they are now playing together in the Sky .... and still causing mischief from above on Rose and the others in that family.

Like the others who have gone on before, Mittens will be missed by Rose's family and mine. There will be one less set of feet to trample the dirt ... one less member of the kitty wrestling team ..... and one less fuzzy cuddle option.

But the tiny footprints left by Mittens in our hearts will always remain .... mixed in with JB's recent footsteps as they run and jump together now ....

Our hearts (mine and the critter crew) go out to Rose and her "crew"

My boy Elvis .... again ...

So tonight ... as I am watering the tanks for the night, I put my hand in to pet Elvis like I usually do. But tonight, while my hand is curled and petting him, he decided it was time for an outting.

He not only came to me in his own accord (which I love him for, btw) he jumped onto my shirt! He was determined he was getting out tonight. So I put the spray bottle down, and took him back to my desk for some hands on time. He was content and not near as bad as the others for jumping in an attempt to explore etc. I wish it was not the end of a brutal long 2 days, or I could have given him more time

At least his "god-mother" got to see him for a few in Skype,..... until he jumped the webcam and then the speakers LOL

Quick update

Just a quick post ... its been a bit with no news... sorry ...

Lucinda has not laid her clutch yet, but is due to lay those duds anytime now ...

When I am beyond exhausted, I am an evil person and feed the crew Fluckers food .... not the best at all for them, but it is something at least. It seems Sylvester likes the stuff ... go figure .... what a crack-head .....

New gear on monday via kijiji ... pics will be posted afterwards ......

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Jumpy critter

Well I finally got the chance to do some hands-on time ... and decided Charlie was gonna be the first tonight ...

As is her norm, she was flighty/skittish to come out ... but calmed right down soon after ....

Cosmo, on the other hand ... was jumpy for most of her time out ....

I really gotta get more time for all of them, but especially the jumpier ones like Cosmo .... and the fact that I may need to re-bond with them if I do go to VA makes me worried about going ....

Monday, May 27, 2013

Dinner!

I think tonight's dinner has Sylvester being the first one to start eating ... but I can see the other two dinner fiends eating away too ...

And the first to clean the dish out is (as usual) COSMO ..... which is why she gets the tank upgrade first of the 3 that need .... which should happen the 10th of June ...

Saturday, May 18, 2013

Odd Things ...

So tonight I noticed 2 odd things ... well more like was reminded or re-enforced .....

Cosmo has never really been good on the glass after I spray it for the night ... like she can't stick or something. She always falls and I am wondering about that more and more. It doesn't look like she is getting hurt but .....

Then there is George ... he has been snapping and edgy and skittish .... but has been contently sitting in my left hand as I type this one-handed with my right .... like the rest of them, happy and calm and content once they are given a few minutes to adjust .... he has also gotten so much bigger from when I first got him ....

Saturday, May 11, 2013

My boy Elvis

Well I am sad ...

I am so busy with work etc I am - again - not giving my crew time their hands-on ... and it shows ...

When I was spraying them for the night, Elvis crawled right into my hand and up my arm. He has not had a lot of time out lately (so sorry, baby) but it is nice to know at least he is still not skittish ... took time when he was a baby but I am glad it has stayed with him ...

I really need to give him time ... and give me time too ....

Monday, May 6, 2013

Cosmo Time ....

I decided to wrap up my night with some Cosmo time, but since she is now skittsih, she had to pee on her glass doors first, of course. Go figure ...

She did settle pretty quick ... and did some hand-walking ... she did seem to like to walk along my left arm, with some jumps as one would expect.

At least she sat still long enuff for me to snap a pic of her .... after which she pooped ... such a lady!

I think babies made from her and Red would look amazing ... with their colors and patterns ...

Sunday, May 5, 2013

Dinner Time!

Well I guess they were hungry ... 3 of the 8 at least ....

Cosmo cleaned her food out so well she HAD to pull the dish from its holder so she could get at it better ... lick the edges type of thing ...

Elvis was laying there on his ledge .... all ready so that when I put his food in all he had to do was shift ever so slightly and stick his head in to eat .... wee tad lazy? Naw...

Then there is Red ... who likes to eat while hanging out upside down on the wall above the food tray ... I highly doubt it gives him a better digestive option ... really ...

Oh and the eggs were infertile .... so I guess the breeding will wait until next spring ....

Friday, May 3, 2013

Time ....

When I think back over the past 15 months .... from when I got my first two boys (Elvis and George) ... I realize how much I have spent on this little venture of mine ... 2 geckos became 5 became 7 became 8 .... different sizes of terrariums as they grew (need 3 more too for latest growing critters) ... accessories ... and food food and more food ...

The amount of money that could easily have been put towards things like car repairs ... groceries ... gas ... tires .... things I am sure many would say I should have done instead of adding to my crew .... that I should have stayed with just the two boys ...

But you know what?

I don't regret it for a minute ... I think about the scenario once in a while, but then my thoughts quickly change to reflect how the time and money was SO well spent ... in the right way .... and I smile a bit ....

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

Max Time

Well tonight was a nice visit with Max. He has not had an outing in a while, same as the rest of them, so I decided tonight would be his turn. He was spazzy and jumpy ... crazy Max ... but then he calmed down .... sat on my upper arm sleeve nice and peaceful .... for a while at least. Then he did the few jumps as usual, but then he calmed down again and just chilled out in my hand. He repeated this on and off pattern for a while, until I put him back for the night.

I hope with time to get them all back into the routine of time out and that they adjust instead of the spazzy jumpy stuff ....

Monday, April 29, 2013

Silly

Well now that she has laid her clutch, Lucinda seems to be in and out of her laybox ....

No idea why .... she didn't even lay them in there anyways ....

Silly girl ....

Sunday, April 28, 2013

Lucinda's Eggs

Well she did it ... she laid her 2 egg clutch as expected this weekend.

She was giving signs that it was coming, like digging in her lay box ... hanging out inside her tree "house" thing ... and being restless on Saturday....

Early this afternoon I found her 2 eggs in the bottom of her tree. I don't know why I bother with a lay-box for her... half the time she lays them in the tree.

Now, after a bit more research, I am worried that IF her and Max DID get busy, maybe I tossed out fertile eggs. It seems I need to wait a week after they are laid to be sure, so her newest eggs (today's eggs) are in the incubator. I will re-candle them next week to see if they seem OK or not.

Sad Day

This was a sad day for me and the critters ... as we had to say good-bye to our best buddy JB ...

He was great little hyper-active ball of fur ... aptly named JB (aka Jail Break) for his unique attempts at making a break for doors and the such ... yet failing so entertainingly. His mentality (such as it was) was balanced by his loving cuddles.

All our hearts (both mine and the critters') go out to our friend Rose. Her heart is broken ... and all we can offer is to help pick up the pieces and put them together with duct-tape. The hurt will fade, the pain and the tears will lessen, but the memories and the smiles never will ...

So this post is for you Rose ... and for JB ... part of our extended (but never too far away) critter family .... we love you!

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Finally

Well I finally got Max weighed ... but holy spazzoid gecko! I think it will need to be him up next for a proper outing ...

He went from 38g in December to 50g now ....

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

The Lady Lucinda

What an awesome night ....

I got in a quick visit with George .... weighed him ... and saw he did a nice growth since December ... he was 39g then and now he is at 49g .... should be nearly as big as he will get .... but we shall see ....

Then I went to get Lucinda for her weigh in .... little concerned since she only gained 2g since the December weigh in ... I will be keeping an eye on her ... maybe try to get them all crickets as soon as I got the money to do so ....

When I went to put her back, she turned around instead ... gave me a look ... and climbed up to my shoulder, looking at me most of the way. She was not wound up, or stressed or agitated like she had been previous times in the past. She was content, calm and happy to be just chilling and hanging out in my hands. She was like that for nearly 2 hours ... going from one hand to the other occasionally ... not worried one bit about nothing .... it was amazing!

They may not purr or make other cute sounds .... they may not cuddle and get playful on the floor ... but my group of gecko crack-heads each have their own unique personalities ... and help me to slow down .... both physically and mentally .... when handling them .... their extreme levels of trust (they don't spazz nearly anymore) that is shown in not firing up but just chilling out so calmly ... makes me smile inside ... I love my critters!

Monday, April 22, 2013

Cleaning

Well I finally got my slow-slacker butt into gear and cleaned 3 tanks tonight .... and got 2 more weighed ...

It appears my little hungry monster called Red has passed poor little Elvis in weight ... but all 3 (including Cosmo) need to get into the next size up of tank. They do not have enuff room to move around ... Since Charlie is in the same weight range but leaner, her being in a larger tank is a key I think.

Elvis went from 25g in Dec to 32g now in April ...

Red went from 19g in Dec to 38g now ...

Charlie went from 34g in Dec to 37g now ...

Cosmo went from 25g in Dec to 41g now ....

Wee little Sylvester went from 7g in Dec to 14 now ....

Friday, April 19, 2013

Water drops

So ... as I am sitting at my desk shutting down my nightly Skype session, I can hear Sylvester hitting the glass wall of his tank. The critters had just been sprayed for the night, but there were no crickets to pounce on (note to self: the crew is long over-due for cricket treats). Normally, my wee little crack-head gecko (aka Sylvester) will try to attack my fingers on the other side if the glass, but my hand was no where near his tank.

When I looked, the silly thing was "hunting" the water drops as they ran down the glass LOL

Silly thing .....

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Charlie Time!

Well I am still working on each one getting time each night ... and tonight was Charlie's turn. Based on how she has been in the past, I fully expected a MAJOR freak-out ...

Oddly (in a good way) she was a little jumpy but calmed down SO fast .... she did a great lot of hand-walking ... and thumb perching ... and she even let me pet her a few times without spazzing ... that was so great, even though she is still camera shy .

The funny of the night ... I am most often on Skype chatting while doing art and my gecko hands-on time .... and when I paused in the hand-walking to type a few words, I swear I got the look of "Are you done yet?" from her .... then she would do more walking when I put my hand there for her.

She didn't gain a lot in the 4 month window .... going from 34g to 37g .... but, in comparison to Cosmo, Charlie has a larger tank ... more room to move around and such. I guess I better start tagging some larger tanks on kijiji for her .... Red or Elvis (both actually) will need bigger too before long ....

Finally

Finally got around to giving Cosmo (for starters) some hands on time. It took her a bit of spazzy jumping but she did settle after a bit. I also got a chance to weigh both her and Sylvester ....  the last time any of them were weighed was back in December. Cosmo is currently at 41g and looking like she needs more room to live in.... meaning she has outgrown her tank. She needs room for a laybox too. Sylvester is up to 14g but still so tiny compared to the rest. I think he was avidly watching my handle Cosmo .....

Monday, April 8, 2013

Tonight's Entertainment ....

While misting the tanks ... here is the fun of the night ...

Max took a leap towards the open doors ... but failed .... LOL

Elvis made a run for it ... and Charlie let me handle her ... gonna try to give them proper time out tomorrow ....

Friday, April 5, 2013

Quick Visit ....

I almost had Elvis crawl into my hand tonight .... but he decided he wanted his food first ... so I did a quick visit with Sylvester .... still a nice few minutes of a royal crap day ... after doing tonight's misting, Elvis wanted to come out, or so I thought .... but nooooo he wanted to play at escape artist .... ummm not gonna happen, Elvis .... LOL

On a side note, Lucinda must be getting near time to lay her next clutch as she has been in her tree a lot tonight ... I will have to check her tree and laybox again .... need to get the date when she does lay them for her pattern ...

Friday, March 29, 2013

Tonight ...

Well the kids have been sprayed down for the night .... and I made the point of handling Charlie for a couple mins ...

Of course, since it has been way too long, she was jumpy .... but I am determined to get them past that once again .... at least Sylvester was not jumpy tonight and let me pet him ....

Hungry kids ....

I guess Red was hungry for his food ... cuz before I finished putting his dish in he was all over it ... had to convince him to move out of the way enuff to give him fresh water ... definitely getting time for a bigger feeding dish for him ...

Silly Lucinda

Well I went hunting ... and found a surprise ...

She has actually laid 2 clutches since I last knew .... they were buried in her laybox .... so I have no idea when she laid them ....

I did candle them, and they appear to be duds still ... so I guess they did not get busy after all .... no worries ...

Day 43?

Its been 43 days and still no clutch from Lucinda ...,

Odd ...

Oddly enough ... while putting stuff away ... I came across 2 grasshoppers .... one big guy and one small one ... must have been hiding in Max's tank as his is the only one with holes to permit that sort of thing .... guess he doesn't get crickets anymore ...

Good Night from the Critter Crew

All have been misted ... and 5 of the 8 got a quick touch/pet from me ... of course Max was hiding ... and Charlie & Lucinda are jumpy as always .... guess I better get back to working on that ....

No eggs still

Odd ...

I figured Lucinda would have laid her next clutch by now .....

She laid her first Dec 26 .... her next 40 days later on Feb 3 .... but still nothing since ...

She was paired with Max for a week Feb 17 - 24 .... but nothing to indicate they did anything ....

I am waiting until she lays her next clutch before I debate setting her up with George .... but I am wondering if they are too young ... or if Max was not quite ready ....

Odd behaviour...

Little concerned about my little Sylvester ....

He has not been out and about all night yet .... and when I went to check he was still hiding out under the fern in the corner ... it can't be from the temperature in the apartment cuz the others are up and around ...

Hope it is just weird thing he has going on tonight ....

Just a random post ... took a look at Lucinda when I was putting Cosmo back ... saw she was in a shed ... looks cool ... just saying ....

Well it's (sadly) been a while since I did some hands-on time with the geckos, and even longer since I took any vids of them .... getting near time for a new weigh-in for them too ....

Well, by request ... here is Cosmo ...

The Toronto Reptile Expo is on Sunday .... and I would love to go but alas no spare funds and definitely no spare gas money ... if you have not been to a reptile expo, you should go ... really ... it is an awesome experience .... hopefully I can save up for the next, but they get so hot in the summer the ones now would be better in a way .... oh well ... the kids all say G'Night ... LOL
